He also blesses us with sounds that might sound familiar to folks that have been following him for years now. You can tell that he knows that he is a legend these days because, in Ice Daddy, he approaches verses sounding unbothered and gives other folks opportunities to shine. I became a man listening to Gucci Mane, as he was in his prime when I listened to his music in college. The reason “Poppin” made this top 5 list is because it features a Lil Baby-Esque emotional trap beat that I love and a very explosive performance by BigWalkDog. As for Gucci Mane, he makes a brief appearance in “Poppin,” hitting us with a sly verse that has him demanding respect from his competition. Thankfully, BigWalkDog shines in “Poppin.” In the song, he blesses us with a DaBaby-Esque performance that is filled with boatloads of confidence and tough-ass bars. POPPIN I find it fitting that Gucci Mane starts Ice Daddy off with a verse by someone else (He’s given so many up-and-coming trap artists opportunities to shine throughout the years). Even though BIG30 does a great job of gifting us with a hook that will get stuck in your head, it’s Gucci’s consistent flows and villainous demeanor that will catch your attention.ġ. While “I Get The Bag” is primarily about luxurious s**t, “Shit Crazy” is primarily about opps getting shot and security guards getting bullied. “Shit Crazy” is powered by a beat that is eerily similar to the beat that is attached to Gucci’s “I Get The Bag” hit from back in the day. As for 2 Chainz, I feel like he adds great animation and energy to the track, while Young Dolph hits us with a catchy hook that is tougher than a McNugget that grew up in the hood. Gucci Mane sounds like he is in his pocket in “Top Of Shit.” Throughout his lone verse, he flows stupendously and almost basks in sounding reckless. TOP OF SHIT Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and Young Dolph all spitting bars over a Zaytoven beat = GOLD! If you grew up on Gucci Mane, “Dboy Style” and “Rich Nigga S**t” will definitely resonate with you.Ĥ. While you’re going to f**k with the nonchalant style that Gucci Mane raps with in “Dboy Style,” don’t sleep on the extremely addictive beat that Southside was able to cook up.
